Scope of PositionĀ 

Reporting to the Manufacturing Operations Finance Director, the ControllerĀ isĀ responsible forĀ financial oversight and management of Watts’ manufacturing facilityĀ locatedĀ inĀ Franklin, NH. This individual will manage the accounting, planning & analysis, budgeting, cost records, and internal control requirements of the site. This role will support the Plant Manager and drive business/manufacturing results by partnering with the Site Management team.Ā 

This role relies heavily on analytical abilities and experience to sort through complex data and prepare meaningful information toĀ assistĀ management with decision making, accounting deliverables, and business performance metrics and reports. As a member of both the Site ManufacturingĀ leadershipĀ team and the Regional Operations Finance team,Ā the ControllerĀ will work cross functionally toĀ identifyĀ areas of improvement in processes and operations.Ā 

This position is fully onsite, 5 days a weekĀ inĀ Franklin,Ā NHĀ and has 3-4 direct reports.Ā Ā 

Primary Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesĀ 

  • Manage plant accounting/cost accounting, financial planning & analysis, and financial reporting responsibilities.Ā 

  • Work closely as the financial business partner to the Plant Manager toĀ identifyĀ and measure ways for improving the profitability of the business.Ā 

  • Collaborate with business and human resources teams to drive workforce planning initiatives at the site.Ā Ā 

  • Monitor, analyze, investigate, and report variances to standard, budget, and prior periods, as well as recommend corrective/ improvement actions.Ā 

  • Manage the development of annual operatingĀ planĀ and multi-year strategic plans.Ā 

  • Develop andĀ maintainĀ accurateĀ standard costs.Ā 

  • Perform product costing and profitability analysis, including make/buy assessments.Ā 

  • PerformĀ month-end financial close including journal entries, account reconciliations, payroll, etc.  

  • Perform month-end reporting and analysis activities, including preparing MOR presentations and departmental operating reviewsĀ 

  • Prepare weekly financial performance projections as well as quarterly forecast updates.Ā 

  • Compile,Ā maintain, and review operation metrics (KPI’s) for Site Management.Ā 

  • Analyze capital investment requests and ensureĀ appropriate returns on investmentĀ while managing risks.  

  • Coordinate inventory cycle count program, audit results, and ensure overall program complianceĀ 

  • Ensure maintenance ofĀ accurateĀ and complete financial records in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, GAAP, and Watts Accounting Policies and Procedures.Ā 

  • EnsureĀ a strong systemĀ of internal controls exists and is properlyĀ monitored.Ā 

  • Provide financial measurement support for site projects (i.e.Ā VAVE, Productivity, Cost Reduction, etc.)Ā 

  • Provide leadership and career development for direct and indirect reports. Effectively manage all leadership requirements for Watts’ performance management processes.Ā

RequiredĀ QualificationsĀ 

  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance. CPA or MBA preferred.Ā 

  • 10+ years’ experience in aĀ leadershipĀ role in finance or accountingĀ atĀ a manufacturing company.Ā 

  • Thorough knowledge of financial performance drivers, accounting principles,Ā proceduresĀ and systems with a solid understanding of accounting and internal controls.Ā 

  • Demonstrated ability to research, retrieve, organize, and summarize data to prepare reports, financial journal entries, and financial analysisĀ andĀ communicatingĀ financial information to various levels of management.Ā 

  • Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.  

  • Advanced finance business partnering experience with the ability to use data to drive financial insights and business decisions.Ā 

  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to lead, mentor and drive team development and growth.Ā Ā 

  • Strong interpersonal,Ā writtenĀ and oral communication skills.Ā 

  • Ability toĀ interfaceĀ and work effectively with business partners  

  • ProficiencyĀ in Microsoft Excel,Ā WordĀ and PowerPoint.Ā 

  • Experience with ERP and financial systems;Ā SAP,Ā PowerBIĀ and Hyperion are a plus.Ā

Working ConditionsĀ Ā 

While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site at a manufacturing facility and will perform the majority of your duties in an office environment.Ā You may, at times,Ā be requiredĀ to be present on the manufacturing floor and will beĀ requiredĀ to wear theĀ appropriate personalĀ protective equipment. You willĀ be requiredĀ to work in the office at theĀ Franklin, NHĀ location (Monday – Friday). Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.Ā
