Job Description:

The Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) PMO Lead is responsible for driving the governance, planning, coordination, and execution of EPR and related sustainability initiatives across Mars Pet Nutrition. This role ensures organizational readiness and supports compliance with evolving environmental regulations while enabling cross-functional alignment, packaging circularity goals, and business transformation efforts.

The EPR PMO Lead serves as the central integrator across Sustainability, Packaging, R&D, Supply, Commercial, Regulatory, Legal, Finance, Corporate Affairs, and Global teams to drive alignment, enable effective execution, and ensure organizational readiness in support of Mars' sustainability and regulatory commitments.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Sustainability, Environmental Science, or an equivalent field.
  • 5+ years of experience leading complex cross-functional programs, projects, or business transformation initiatives.
  • 8+ years of experience in PMO leadership, program management, sustainability, regulatory compliance, supply chain, or related functions.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing and managing project governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive alignment across multiple functions in a matrixed organization.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams, timelines, risks, dependencies, and competing priorities.
  • Experience presenting recommendations, status updates, and business impacts to senior leadership.
  • Knowledge of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), packaging sustainability, circular economy principles, or environmental compliance programs.
  • Experience leading enterprise-wide transformation programs with significant operational and financial impact.
  • Experience working across global and regional teams.

What will be your key responsibilities?

EPR & Sustainability Program Execution:

  • Support execution of North America Pet Nutrition EPR and related sustainability initiatives by coordinating cross-functional activities, managing timelines, and driving delivery of key milestones.
  • Ensure alignment between regulatory requirements, business priorities, and Mars sustainability commitments through effective program management, governance, and stakeholder engagement.

Governance & Risk Management:

  • Establish and manage governance forums, including Steering Committee (SteerCo) meetings, leadership reviews, and decision-making processes.
  • Monitor program health by identifying risks, issues, dependencies, and resource constraints, and driving resolution and mitigation plans.
  • Escalate critical risks, business decisions, and timeline impacts to leadership as appropriate.

Stakeholder Management & Integration:

  • Serve as the primary point of integration across Sustainability, Packaging, R&D, Supply, Procurement, Commercial, Finance, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Corporate Affairs, and Global teams.
  • Drive alignment, accountability, and resolution of cross-functional issues to support delivery of EPR program objectives.
  • Facilitate cross-functional communication and collaboration to ensure timely decision-making and successful program execution.
