ABOUT THE ROLE

The Plant Controls Engineer works closely with the Plant Engineer to provide technical expertise for the development, design, and execution of capital, expense, and maintenance projects in a safe, profitable, timely, and efficient manner by performing the following responsibilities.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

Develops, designs, performs cost estimation, justification, and prepares business cases for capital and expense projects.
Evaluate, implement, and monitor processes and operating systems for the manufacture of asphalt products, including supporting or leading trials.
Equipment calibration and maintenance monitoring.
Support the conversion of older-scale processes into commercially viable large-scale operations.
Monitor and improve the efficiency, output, and safety of manufacturing processes through observations and measurements, as well as by collecting and interpreting data from other technical and operating personnel.
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education: Bachelor’s degree

Field of Study Preferred: Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering

Required Work Experience: Five to seven years of experience in a continuous manufacturing plant.

Travel Requirements: N/A

Additional Requirements:

Demonstrated knowledge of controls and their impact on the equipment.
Solid project management skills.
Experience working with design software.
Thorough and demonstrated understanding of process control systems.
Understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance techniques.
Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators. Employees who are required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
