We are looking for enthusiastic people with a passion for making a difference in the lives of those we serve in our community. The Psychiatrist provides comprehensive outpatient mental health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment services to Mercy Community Health clients across the lifespan. Working collaboratively within the treatment team, the psychiatrist develops and implements evidence-based therapeutic interventions for individuals experiencing behavioral health disorders, maintains meticulous clinical documentation and medical records in compliance with regulatory standards, and ensures continuity of care through effective communication with clinical team members and appropriate specialist referrals. Position is full-time with 2 days in-clinic seeing patients and 3 days remote providing support and supervision to mid-level NPs. We provide care to the uninsured, underinsured and insured through pediatric and adult primary care, mental and behavioral health services, and care coordination. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Obtain health histories and perform comprehensive physical examinations, including psychosocial, functional, and developmental assessment in pediatric and adult patients. Order and interpret lab results and other diagnostic studies. Develop differential diagnoses. Develop/order therapeutic plan of care. Maintain timely patient records in accordance with MCH policies. Evaluate patient’s response to plan of care and modify as needed. Provide patient/ family counseling and education. Arrange for patient referrals / consultations. Diagnose and treat common acute psychiatric problems, illness, and crises. Psychopharmacologic management, including controlled substances. Provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy. Provide psychotherapy via video and tele-medicine modalities. Care for and counsel clients with common identified chronic psychiatric conditions. Coordinate and integrate multidisciplinary services for clients with complex psychiatric problems. Monitor common health care problems and refer for specialized medical treatment as needed. Provide comprehensive family psychiatric-mental health education. Work with clients and their families in anticipation of developmental milestones or life cycle events. Perform or recommend age-appropriate screening procedures. Promote wellness-oriented self-care. Advocate for family psychiatric mental health clients and their families. Provide Physician oversight to PMHNPs and rotating students. Other duties as assigned and required by supervisor. QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: Education: Medical or Osteopathic degree and successful completion of Psychiatric residency Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience Required Skills / Abilities: Excellent Verbal and written communication skills required. Excellent Interpersonal and customer service skills required. Excellent Organizational skills and attention to detail abilities required. Excellent Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines required. Excellent Analytical and problem-solving skills required. Basic Microsoft Office skills required. Eclinicalworks - EMR skills desired.
