JOB SUMMARY

The Quality Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of cannabis products by conducting process-related assessments and verifying finished goods meet established specifications. This position supports production operations by monitoring adherence to SOPs, performing quality assurance activities, and documenting results in a highly regulated environment.

This role reports to the Site Quality Manager and partners closely with cross-functional teams to maintain compliance with state regulations, cGMP standards, and internal quality programs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Monitor cannabis process controls across cultivation, post-harvest, manufacturing, and packaging operations in accordance with SOPs and product specifications
  • Perform quality assessments including:
    • Incoming material inspections
    • In-process monitoring and finished goods verification
    • Labeling and fulfillment checks
  • Conduct cGMP audits and facility inspections to ensure compliance
  • Evaluate product handling, storage, sanitation, pest control, and environmental conditions
  • Support product hold, release, disposition, and traceability processes
  • Conduct complaint trending and assist with root cause analysis investigations
  • Operate and maintain quality monitoring equipment (ATP meters, PAR meters, COâ‚‚ meters, and other analytical tools)
  • Accurately document data, perform basic analysis, and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal reporting standards
  • Perform routine calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of quality equipment
  • Collaborate with production, lab, and management teams to communicate quality findings and resolve issues
  • Maintain strict adherence to PPE requirements and safety protocols

OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Support quality programs including internal audits, validations, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitor process conditions and identify opportunities to improve quality and efficiency
  • Maintain inventory of testing supplies, consumables, and equipment
  • Stay current with local and state cannabis regulations and ensure compliance across all quality activities
  • Support training initiatives related to quality standards and compliance

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain cannabis facility badging
  • 1+ year of experience in cannabis, food production, pharmaceutical, or similar regulated manufacturing environment
  • Basic knowledge of quality assurance and quality control principles
  • Strong attention to detail with accurate data collection and documentation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment
  • Strong communication and basic computer skills

PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Prior experience in cannabis production or quality roles
  • Familiarity with cGMP standards and regulated environments
  • Experience with METRC or other inventory/compliance tracking systems
  • Exposure to environmental monitoring and sanitation programs
  • Experience using quality testing or monitoring equipment (ATP, PAR, COâ‚‚, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to support root cause analysis
  • Associate's degree or higher in a scientific or related field
