JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plans, coordinates, assigns, and oversees radiology clerical staff duties in accordance with Manager’s expectations.

Maintains personnel requirements in collaboration with the department manager including job descriptions, performance appraisals, disciplinary action, continuing education, and proficiency testing for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Provides employee selection, orientation, training, and review. Ensures consistent application of all departmental and Johnson Memorial Health (JMH) policies.

Functions as a resource to staff. Complies with all department expectations and policy and procedures.

Coordinates the non-technical operations and workflow per department guidelines.

Searches for better ways of doing things by recommending and/or initiating suggestions for improvement of departmental operations and/or services provided. Participates in Performance Improvement initiatives.

Works well with others and is supportive of team efforts. Provides quality service to all customers (internal and external). Demonstrates responsibility in accepting work assignments.

Demonstrates proficiency administrating PACS and other imaging resources to ensure patient exams (images) and reports are accurately stored and easily accessible for PACs users. 

Schedules patients for special procedures and generates orders for exams.

Shows proficiency in use of hospital and radiology information system pertaining to job specific functions.

Assists in cost containment and equipment evaluation. Orders supplies for clerical needs.

Performs other duties as required.

Clearly communicates and continuously supports the Mission and Values of Johnson Memorial Health.

Conducts all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and Johnson Memorial Health policies and procedures including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: 

High school diploma or equivalent required. One year of post high school secretarial training or related experience required. Completion of a formal medical terminology program is preferred. Previous experience in radiology or supervisory experience preferred. Training for computer systems, operational procedures provided.   Previous supervisory experience preferred.
