Job Summary:

TheĀ Staff Accountant manages day-to-day accounting activities related to business operations and assists in month-end close. This position performs basic accounting and financial reporting functions, such as: general ledger entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and financial reporting. The staff accountant also supports their divisional senior and manger with ad hoc requests from the operations and finance teams.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Perform basic accounting functions, such as: general ledger entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Assists the accounting team in the day-to-day operations of accounting and finance in a fast-paced start-up healthcare environment
  • Assists the senior and manager of their division with ad hoc requests such as additional analyses for the finance or operations teams
  • Performs bank reconciliations and assists in month end close and fixed assets tracking
  • Maintains files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
  • Performs basic data analysis to report recent and historical financial performance
  • Performs regular analysis of business outcomes vs prior period actuals and budget
  • Assists in the planning and implementation of various business processes in order to improve and support business processes and activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree with a concentration in Accounting or Finance

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency with standard office software applications (Outlook, Microsoft Office Ā®)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with General Ledger (GL) /Accounting software (experience with Sage Intacct is a plus)
  • Strong problem-solving skills, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to use technology to collect, manipulate data, determine significant findings, and present information clearly
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects while maintaining accountability under strict deadlines

The salary range for this role is $60,000 - $75,000 per year.
