About the role The Locate Technician is responsible to locate all of Ripple Fibers infrastructure. These locates are vitally important to make sure our customer base does not have service interruptions due to outside entities hitting our infrastructure. Locate Technicians are also responsible for ensuring that customers receive the highest level of customer service. Responsibilities: · Managing locate tickets that come from 811 · Locating accurately to avoid damage to Ripple infrastructure · Create and maintain network documentation. · Using monitoring network performance tools to troubleshoot problem areas. · Assist with escalations (2nd Line support) to resolve end user issues. · Keeping Ripple’s locates within SLA · Capable to be available for emergency locates · Mastering the ability to use locate equipment Skills Required · Must have a valid state driver’s license and safe driving record. · Ability to operate hand tools and handheld mobile devices. · Experience working in customer service, construction, electrical, technical or related field is a plus. · Clean driving record. · Work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. · Identify wire and cable colors. · Qualify on pre-employment assessments. · Be available for overtime, emergency call outs and holiday work. Physical Demands · Lift and move up-to 60 lbs. – some of our ladders weigh 50-60 lbs. · At times work in small spaces or lofts (up to 28 ft.). · Must meet ladder safety weight requirements (maximum 275 lbs. including gear) in accordance with OSHA standards.
