Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Operations Manager assumes leadership accountability and responsibility for shift operations, as well as supervision and support of those providing patient care.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the day-to-day operations of clinical case management and consultative services at Mary Washington Hospital and Stafford Hospital.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors compliance to ensure standards of practice for patient care.
  • Coordinates a structured, strengths- based learning experience as a field liaison for Master’s level students, providing clinical supervision and communication.
  • Provides clinical supervision of Associates.
  • Utilizes the Performance Improvement process to identify opportunities in clinical practice, departmental operations, policy and procedures.
  • Facilitates team collaboration with department leadership to develop and implement improvements.
  • Reviews and supervises the disposition of patients seen by case management staff.
  • Performs case management duties and acts a resource to Associates.
  • Responsible for recruitment, selection, orientation, and retention of Associates. Provides coaching, mentoring and counseling as appropriate.
  • Monitors the use of clinical resources; works in partnership with the leadership to implement care utilizing appropriate resource management.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in in a behavioral health discipline required.  
  • Licensed as a LCSW, LPC as defined by the Virginia Department of Health required.
  • Knowledge of developmental issues impacting patients is required. 
  • Demonstrated proficiency and experience in verbal and written communication required. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs required.
  • CPI certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
  • A minimum of two years in clinical management experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of six years in mental health experience is preferred.
  • Professional affiliation with an organization pertaining to clinical specialty preferred.
  • Working knowledge of reimbursement and managed health care systems preferred.

Physical Requirements: Constant (67-100% of workday) sitting and use of arms and hands; occasional (0-33% of workday) standing, walking, bending, squatting; ability to lift, push, and pull up to 10 lbs.; auditory and visual skills.

Mental Requirements: Possesses critical thinking and analytical skills.  Ability to multi-task.  Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team. 

Environmental Requirements and Exposure Hazards: Potential risk of exposure to chemicals.
