Position Description
PSCI-LIA is seeking a Technical Writer I to draft, develop, revise, and maintain technical publications in support of Advanced Amphibious Assault Vehicles (AAAV) programs. The Technical Writer will collaborate closely with Product Management, Technical Publications Support Specialists, Graphic Illustrators, and Government stakeholders to create new technical manuals and update existing documentation.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical writing skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex engineering and logistics concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with supported Project Manager (PM AAA) representatives to understand the requirements, scope, and content of assigned technical publications.
- Support Engineering Change Proposal (ECP)–driven development, modifications, updates, revisions, and change pages impacting technical publications.
- Participate in design reviews supporting evolving vehicle designs and assess impacts to current and future technical publications.
- Assist in technical publication development and revision processes, including participation in validation and verification activities for newly revised publications.
- Provide technical writing expertise and support to Government stakeholders for the development of procedures related to operations, installation, and maintenance.
- Review ECPs and modification-related documentation to identify impacts on current technical publications and future updates.
- Develop and document logistics portions of the design and design-change process, including:
- Modification installation instructions
- Technical instructions
- Supply instructions
- Lubrication instructions
- Ensure technical publications comply with applicable standards, formats, and program requirements.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
- Active Secret Clearance or higher (required).

Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in engineering, defense, or technical publication development.
- Experience supporting validation and verification processes for technical documentation.

Required Skills
- Ability to create, edit, and format web-based and electronic technical publications.
- Proficiency in developing detailed technical procedures and logistics documentation.
- Strong understanding of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and their impact on technical documentation.
- Excellent written, verbal, and organizational communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
