The Admissions Representative is responsible for promoting the services of our behavioral healthcare facility and facilitating the intake process for potential clients. This individual will act as a liaison between the facility and the community, providing education, support, and guidance to individuals seeking treatment. The Admissions Representative will work closely with the admissions team to ensure a seamless and efficient intake process.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to inquiries from potential clients, family members, and referral sources regarding our facility's services and programs.
- Provide information and education about our services, including treatment options, programs, and amenities.
- Assess potential clients' needs and determine eligibility for admission.
- Complete comprehensive intake assessments and gather necessary information to support the admissions process.
- Facilitate the intake process, including scheduling appointments, completing necessary paperwork, and conducting phone or video interviews.
- Coordinate with the treatment team to ensure a smooth transition into treatment.
- Collaborate with billing company to verify coverage and benefits.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions with potential clients and referral sources.
- Identify and address potential barriers to admission, such as financial or insurance issues.
- Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources, including hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare providers.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in behavioral healthcare.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance knowledge and skills.
Requirements:
- At least 1-2 years of experience in behavioral healthcare admissions or a related field.
- Strong understanding of behavioral healthcare services, including mental health and substance abuse treatment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMRs) and other software systems.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., psychology, social work, counseling).
- Experience working in a behavioral healthcare facility or similar setting.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills.
Work Environment:
- The Admissions Representative will work in a fast-paced office environment with frequent phone calls and interactions with clients and referral sources.
- The ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required to accommodate client needs.
- This is an in-office position. Monday to Friday - 9am to 5pm.
