ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESÂ Â Â
Services various equipment and apparatus including but not limited to patient monitors, electrocardiographs, blood gas analyzers, x-ray units, defibrillators, electrosurgical units, anesthesia apparatus, pacemakers, blood pressure transducers, spirometers, sterilizers, diathermy equipment and other related technical paraphernalia. Â
Safety tests various equipment to ensure patient and staff safety from electrical or mechanical hazards.  Â
Consults with medical or research staff to ascertain that equipment functions properly and safely. Â
Demonstrates proficiency in entering, completing, retrieving information regarding work orders, assets, PM schedules, and other functions and applications of the CMMS database as pertains to daily operation of the department.  Â
Modifies or develops instruments or devices, under supervision of medical or engineering staff.  Â
Works collectively with salesperson or service technician or equipment manufacturers or their representatives to assure proper operation of equipment.  Â
Completes daily work orders and other tasks as assigned with minimal supervision. Â
Acts as a resource for partners. Â
Participates in managing inventories and operational budget, taking emergency call and helping with special events. Â
May be required to work flexible hours, alternate shifts and weekends. Â
May require travel with personal or company vehicle. Â
May be assigned to any of Mercyhealth locations.  Â
Â
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEÂ Â Â
Associate Degree in Bio-Medical Engineering/Electronics or related or related Military equivalent certifications or CBET Certification.Â
Minimum 1-3 years of experience in an environment that pertains to installing, maintaining and repairing medical, electronic and/or mechanical equipment  Â

CERTIFICATION/LICENSUREÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
Certification as a Bio-Medical Technician by AAMI preferredÂ
Maintain a valid driver's licenseÂ
Have and maintain driving record per Mercy’s HR-01 Fleet Safety policyÂ
