Overview

We are currently accepting applications for this position, with an anticipated hire date at the end of April. Candidates are encouraged to apply early for consideration.

Supervises the daily activities and work performed within the Biomedical Services Department. The Supervisor assures quality performance as well as good customer relations. Work tasks include appropriate commissioning, repair and safety testing of biomedical equipment assigned to the department. Ensures that the biomedical equipment is in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, implements quality control standards, maintains budget, and vendor relationships. The supervisor is considered a working supervisor that has authority for personnel actions and oversees the department鈥檚 day-to-day operations. Familiar with a variety of the field鈥檚 concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks as assigned. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The position reports to the Manager of Biomedical Services.


Responsibilities

  • Reviews work orders and preventive maintenance tasks to determine work priorities.
  • Schedules repair, maintenance and installation of machines, tools, and equipment by self-performance and delegation of work assignments.
  • Directs maintenance activities on biomedical equipment to provide the highest standards for safety, quality, and availability of medical equipment.
  • Manages CMMS database.
  • Coordinates special projects.
  • Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations. Directs training of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with Mercyhealth policies and procedures.
  • Confers with Leadership, customers and quality assurance staff to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of work performance and equipment.
  • Assists Manager in preparation of department budget and monitors expenditure of funds in budget.
  • The Supervisor is the department representative and liaison with internal customers.

Education and Experience

Associate Degree in Biomedical Engineering/Electronics or related or related Military equivalent certifications required. Three or more years of experience in BioMedical Engineering and a supervisory role in a healthcare setting.


Certification/Licensure
