Position Purpose:
Position is responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of machines, building equipment, material handling equipment, etc. relating to electrical problems
Essential Functions:
- Troubleshoot PLC with working knowledge of ladder logics;
- Design control systems using PLC’s, switches, sensors, mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics; fabrications, modifications, and other control systems/processes;
- Maintain and repair machines, building equipment, material handling equipment, etc. relating to equipment problems relating to electrical problems using repair orders, repair manuals, spare parts lists, drawings, diagrams, handbooks, technical bulletins, and general direction;
- Perform rigging and lifting;
- Instruct operators as necessary for proper equipment care or operation to reduce machine or equipment abuse and reduce downtime;
- Advise supervision as to replacement/fabrication material and parts needed;
- Work with Automation Maintenance Technicians, machinists, and/or toolmaker/machinists as necessary to make repair parts, fabrications, modifications, etc.;
- Work with sub-contractors as assigned;
- Report unusual or unsafe conditions to supervisor;
- Maintain accurate and timely timekeeping on computer system;
- Maintain work area(s) in a clean, safe, and orderly manner;
- Follow all safety rules and regulations;
- Actively participate in efforts to establish and promote a safe and healthy work environment. Follow policies, programs, and procedures for the reduction and elimination of work-related accidents and provide feedback to promote safer work behaviors and conditions.
Education and Training:
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of experience and education;
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office;
- 5+ years experience

- Ability to use large equipment, hand tools and wrenches, computers, scales, and various grinders;
- Able to perform job duties in small areas and areas where pinch points exist;

- Ability to work in a variety of environments which may include exposure to extreme heat, humidity, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, loud noise, and all weather conditions.

- Ventilation: Working in confined spaces or areas with poor ventilation can pose risks, especially when working with certain tools or materials that produce fumes.
- Access and Space: The physical environment should allow for safe access to electrical panels, machinery, and other equipment. Cramped spaces can make work challenging and increase the risk of accidents.
- Weather Conditions: For electricians working outdoors, weather conditions (rain, snow, extreme temperatures) can impact safety and the ability to perform tasks.
- Grounding and Electrical Codes: Understanding local electrical codes and ensuring proper grounding in all installations is crucial for safety and compliance.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to stand for an 8 hour shift. Position requires frequent twisting, turning, reaching, bending, pulling and pushing. Position occasionally requires walking, climbing, stooping, and crouching. The employee must be able to handle up to 80 lbs on a regular basis throughout the 8 hour shift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Working conditions include exposure to extreme temperatures (heat) and humid conditions, dirt, and noise
