Role Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Staff Accountant. In this role, you will be a part of MCHG’s Service and Support Team, responsible for performing financial and accounting functions, and providing accounting support to MCHG hotels.  Staff Accountant General Responsibilities

- Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets

- Reconcile bank statements, general ledger, credit card accounts

- Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to improve performance

- Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures

- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations

- Collaborate with other MCHG teams to ensure that financial goals are met

- Assist with the preparation of Sales Tax filings

- Additional financial reporting responsibilities and assignments as required



Requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field

Proven experience in corporate accounting or related field 

Good interpersonal skills in person, written and over the phone

Excellent problem solving and resolution skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Attention to detail and accuracy

Familiarity with the hospitality industry is a plus
