Position Purpose: 

As a L.L. Bean Guide, you'll be the heartbeat of our brand-new Flagship store, delivering world-class service with a smile. You'll be the face of the L.L.Bean brand, engaging customers, keeping our store in tip-top shape, and fostering a spirit of teamwork. Your role will be ever-changing and exciting, working in multiple areas, and adapting to the needs of the day while showcasing your product knowledge, processing skills and/or service expertise. Get ready to make every customer feel like a part of our outdoor-loving family! 

Flagship Store Front of House Positions (sales floor, registers):

  • Use PCs, Point Of Sale, answering outside phone calls, and mobile devices to provide seamless, fast omni-channel service.

  • Actively approach and assist multiple customers, providing personal and genuine service interactions. 

  • Drive excitement around L.L.Bean sponsored programs, including Outdoor Discovery Program and the L.L.Bean Mastercard program. 

  • Ensure a well-organized store, uphold visual and merchandising standards, and support store operations processes. 

Flagship Store Back Of House Positions (operations, replenishment):

  • Use PCs, Point Of Sale, answer incoming phone calls, and mobile devices to provide seamless, fast omni-channel service.

  • Able to perform basic and repetitive functions alone with ability to learn new systems.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment

  • Ensure a well-organized store, uphold visual and merchandising standards, and support store operations processes.

  • Approach and assist multiple customers, providing personal and genuine service interactions. 

3rd Shift Position:

  • Use PCs, Point Of Sale, and mobile devices to provide seamless, fast omni-channel service.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Approach and assist multiple customers, providing personal and genuine service interactions. 

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

  • Ensure a well-organized store, uphold visual and merchandising standards, and support store operations processes.

  • Comfortable doing repetitive tasks alone or with a team.

  • Drive excitement around L.L.Bean sponsored programs, including Outdoor Discovery Program and the L.L.Bean Mastercard program. 

Events:

  • Required to stand, walk during shift; talk or hear, both in person and by headset; Occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps  

  • Repetitive motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers; occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and consistently move and lift objects up to 40 pounds (utilizing a team lift as needed) 

  • Passion for providing world-class customer service.

  • Proficiency with computer systems and the ability to learn new technologies.

  • Availability to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Personalized Services

  • Completing multiple services including: Monogramming, engraving, alterations, embossing, light repairs

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment doing repetitive tasks alone or with a team

  • Use of PCs, Point of Sale, answering and making outside phone calls, providing personal and genuine service interaction

  • Approach and assist multiple customers providing world class service

Home Store: (May/June start dates)

  • Utilize PCs, Point of Sale systems, and mobile devices to deliver fast, accurate, and seamless omni-channel service to customers.

  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy in all transactions and operational tasks.

  • Engage, assist, and build rapport with multiple customers at once, delivering a personalized and professional service experience.

  • Support sales in key categories—including bedding and furniture—by providing knowledgeable guidance, recommending solutions, and contributing to overall department sales goals.

  • Adapt to working across multiple areas within a single shift, ensuring coverage, smooth operations, and consistent customer support throughout the store.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor while upholding company merchandising and presentation standards.

  • Thrive in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment requiring frequent walking, standing, lifting, and multitasking.

Hunting Department:

  • Knowledge, experience, and passion for various hunting pursuits (upland, waterfowl, big game, small game, etc).

  • Familiarity with sporting firearms.

  • Experience in archery preferred.

  • Ability to multitask and /or change tasks frequently. 

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Fishing Department:

  • Knowledge, experience, and passion for fishing (both fly and spin).

  • Understanding of fishing tackle and techniques.

  • Familiarity with Maine fresh and saltwater gamefish species.

  • Experience in paddlesports or boating.

  • Ability to stand entire shift. 

  • Ability to multitask and /or change tasks frequently. 

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. 

Retail Merchandise Pickup Center–   Working in a warehouse environment to support the Retail Campus Stores

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Able to perform basic and repetitive computer functions alone with the ability to learn new computer systems 

  • Ability to multitask and/or change tasks frequently 

  • Able to answer internal phone calls from the campus retail stores

  • Ability to load furniture and other large, bulky items into customer vehicles

  • Deliver world class customer service during customer pickups

  • Able to unload truck deliveries and sort into the warehouse

  • Physical demands – Stand/Walk entire shift (approx. 3 - 6 miles) / Bend, lift, grab, reach over shoulder and squat / Climb ladders and stairs / Pallet Jack handling / PoHi 5 required, lifting 50lbs. to a height of 54” overhead / Load into a vehicle / Pulling inventory, assembling product, loading pallets for store delivery /  Manual dexterity to apply price tags

Physical Demands: 

  • Required to stand, walk during shift; talk or hear, both in person and by radio headset; Occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps  

  • Able to walk/stand for 6-8 hour shift

  • Repetitive motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers; occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 20 pounds may  

  • Occasionally move and lift objects up to 40 pounds (utilizing a team lift as needed)
