Job DetailsJob Location: Midland University - Fremont, NE 68025Midland University, a private, faith-based, liberal arts university in Fremont, Nebraska (just outside of metro Omaha), is seeking an Assistant Track and Field Coach. The candidate will support the Head Coach of Cross Country and Track & Field in providing leadership, including coaching, recruiting, equipment management, and other duties, for effectively developing the team.  Key Job Duties & Responsibilities: Assist the Head Coach with the administration and leadership of the cross country and track & field programs to provide: Coaching and instruction for distance runners during training activities and competitions during the cross country and track seasons Lead recruiting and retention efforts for distance runners Direction in strength and conditioning activities Leadership in running competitions, camps, and clinics Ensure team compliance with all NAIA and institutional rules and regulations Represent Midland University by continuously modeling respect, integrity, and student-focused decision-making Experience Needed: A minimum of 2 years of cross-country and/or track and field coaching experience is required Previous recruiting experience is preferred   Demonstrated critical thinking, positivity, and problem-solving skills, along with strong communication skills Education, Licensure & Certification Needed: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required; a focus in education or human performance is preferred USATF or USTFCCCA Certification preferred  Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable through the University Skills & Abilities Needed: Current and working knowledge of training methods for distance runners A self-starter with a positive attitude and strong relationship-building skills Ability to resolve issues with a team and independently Qualifications
