We are seeking an Associate Software Engineer in our Fremont, CA location.


The Associate Software Engineer supports the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software for advanced test and automation systems. This role is ideal for early‑career engineers who are eager to learn, grow, and contribute to multidisciplinary engineering projects. Under the guidance of senior engineers, the Associate Software Engineer will develop core technical skills, gain hands‑on experience with hardware/software integration and participate in the full software development lifecycle.



Key Responsibilities

  • Implement software features using C++, STL, Java, Python, and C# with guidance from senior team members
  • Develop and maintain applications for Linux and Windows environments
  • Participate in design discussions and assist in translating requirements into implementation tasks
  • Create and execute black‑box and white‑box test cases to validate software behavior
  • Support debugging and troubleshooting activities using lab equipment and engineering tools
  • Assist in customer application development and integration tasks
  • Investigate defects, perform preliminary root‑cause analysis, and recommend potential fixes
  • Collaborate with Applications, Electrical, and Manufacturing Engineering teams
  • Contribute to documentation, code reviews, and process improvements
  • Learn and apply engineering tools such as Jira, Confluence, Git, Bitbucket, and GitKraken



Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

Technical Skills

  • Strong programming skills in C/C++, Java, Python, and C#
  • Experience with Linux and Windows development environments
  • Ability to write and execute black‑box and white‑box test cases
  • Familiarity with multithreaded, task‑based, or GUI application development is a plus
  • Understanding of software development fundamentals, version control, and debugging

Experience

  • Internship, academic projects, or coursework related to software development
  • Exposure to multidisciplinary product development involving software and electronics is beneficial
  • Knowledge of semiconductor test systems or manufacturing technology is a plus

Soft Skills

  • Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn and grow under mentorship
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to translate requirements into clear implementation tasks



Compensation
