Class B CDL Driver - MDC

JOB TITLE: CDL Class B Driver                                                                            DEPARTMENT: MDC

JOB SUMMARY: 

The CDL Class B Driver- Packaging Line will be responsible for loading and unloading delivery trucks, while also delivering to specific customers. This position will also be responsible for assisting the packaging line when not out on deliveries. 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Provides on-time deliveries to specified customers at the appropriate destination. 
2. Unload all customer orders.
3. Responsible for packaging and loading truck according to that days deliveries.
4. Obey all traffic laws. Responsible for reporting violations, fines and accidents to reporting supervisor.
5. Responsible for reporting violations, fines, and accidents to the Fremont/MDC office immediately. 
6. Provides routine preventative maintenance on truck by following the check sheet on a daily basis. Servicing/repairs/replacement of parts to be authorized by the Fremont office only. Situations involving a breakdown are to be reported to the Fremont/MDC office immediately to authorize serving. Truck cab will be kept clean and neat. 
7. Keeps accurate daily logs including start/stop time, milage, and fuel records. Authorized credit cards only will be used for purchase of diesel gas, motels and meals. Expense reports with receipts are to be completed and turned in to the Fremont office on a weekly basis. 
8. Be familiar and compliant with the systems, procedures and documentation of the Crown Quality System and how it relates to Engineering and Crown quality objectives. 

ACCOUNTABILITY: This position reports directly to the MDC Distribution Center Operations Supervisor.  

COMPETENCIES:  

• Must have Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement 
• Ability to work with customers and their policies 
• Valid medical exam card with drug screen dated within the last 24 months
• Knowledgeable about Feberal Motor carrier safety regulations 
• 1 year forklift experience 
• 1 year Class B CDL experience 

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:  

• Must be 18 years of age
• High school diploma or GED equivalent 
• Class B CDL with hazmat endorsement 
• Safety training 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to stand/walk for 8-10 hours at a time; ability to bend, twist, turn, and pull operate a pallet jack. Must be able to pass DOY physical and background check. Able to list up to 130 lbs. 

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: This is a full-time position, at a minimum of 8-hour shifts Monday-Friday, overtime is scheduled as needed. Must be able to work all mandatory overtime as required. This position works independently from all other departments.
