We're hiring a Senior Stucco Estimator/Project Manager to prepare accurate, competitive bids for commercial and multi-family lath, plaster, EIFS, and scaffold projects across California and Nevada. This is a senior individual-contributor role working alongside our Chief Estimator — you'll take the lead on complex, high-dollar bids, mentor less-experienced estimators, and be the person the team turns to when a bid gets complicated. You'll also be expected to engage in business development, meeting with the General Manager at least twice a month.
What You'll Do
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for lath, plaster, EIFS, and scaffold, and related exterior finish systems from architectural and structural drawings
- Prepare complete, competitive estimates for commercial and multi-family projects, applying current material pricing, labor rates, and production rates
- Review plans, specifications, addenda, and RFIs to identify scope, conflicts, missing information, and potential change-order exposure before bid submission
- Solicit and evaluate material and sub-tier pricing from vendors and suppliers
- Lead pricing and proposal development for the largest and most complex bids in the pipeline
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, job walks, and scope reviews
- Support project turnover, communicating estimate assumptions, exclusions, and production expectations to the project management team
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior estimators as needed
- Maintain working knowledge of project management and be able to step into a PM role when required
- Be comfortable and open to working with AI-assisted tools as part of the estimating workflow
What You Bring
- 8+ years of commercial construction estimating experience, with lath, plaster, EIFS, scaffold, or closely related exterior-finish/Division 09 trades strongly preferred
- Strong ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and detail drawings
- Proficiency with estimating/takeoff software such as Bluebeam
- Working knowledge of Sage construction accounting/estimating modules a plus
- Strong understanding of California construction practices; Nevada experience a plus given cross-state project coverage
- Ability to manage multiple active bids and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with project managers, superintendents, vendors, and general contractors
Nice to Have
- Experience estimating public works / prevailing wage projects
- Existing relationships with lath, plaster, and exterior-finish material suppliers in the Sacramento/Reno markets
- Experience mentoring or leading other estimators
