PREP & LINE COOK

Do you love working with great food, moving with purpose, and being part of a fast-paced kitchen team? We’re looking for motivated Prep & Line Cooks who take pride in creating quality food, keeping a clean station, and helping deliver an excellent experience for every guest that walks through our doors.

In this role, you’ll help prepare fresh ingredients and execute menu items while following sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards. Our Prep & Line Cooks follow established recipes, portions, and procedures while using restaurant supplies and equipment responsibly to minimize waste and maximize quality.

Prep & Line Cook Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients by following recipes; slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing ingredients; adding seasonings and verifying taste.
  • Complete meal preparation by grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying, and broiling ingredients; verifying doneness and taste while assembling and refrigerating cold ingredients.
  • Organize and label all ingredients and storage shelves so products remain neat, accessible, and properly rotated.
  • Present meals by arranging hot and cold elements using appropriate diningware and presentation standards.
  • Help control costs by adhering to recipes and following established preparation procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen by following all state and local sanitation, storage, refrigeration, and safety standards. Utilize lower-volume hours to prep, organize, and clean work areas and equipment.
  • Maintain supply inventory by checking stock levels and notifying the Executive Chef when restocking is needed.
  • Work together with coworkers to ensure smooth kitchen operations and maximum efficiency during service.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance, grooming, cleanliness, and hygiene, including wearing the proper uniform at all times while working.
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.

Qualifications & Skills

The qualifications below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to succeed in this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.

  • Ability to regularly stand and walk for 8–10 hour shifts; climb stairs repeatedly throughout a shift; and occasionally sit, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to consistently reach above shoulder level, overhead, and below the waist; push, pull, lift, and carry up to 25 pounds regularly, including up flights of stairs, and occasionally lift more than 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in kitchen environments with varying noise levels, temperature changes, water exposure, and cleaning materials.
  • Basic understanding of the English language, writing skills, and basic mathematics.
  • Prior kitchen experience is appreciated but not required. Preference may be given to applicants with two or more years of experience.
