We are looking for aĀ PrincipalĀ EquipmentĀĀĀĀĀ EngineerĀ to join our team in one of todayās most exciting technologies.⯠This role willĀ reportĀ toĀ Equipment Engineering Senior ManagerĀ and based inĀ Fremont CA.⯠ThisĀ is a fully on-site, in office role.Ā Ā
Ā
Role and Responsibilities:Ā
Support equipment across various manufacturing lines, with differing levels of complexityĀ
Skilled in diagnosing and fixing manufacturing equipmentĀ
Automated EquipmentĀ
Provide support for equipment through PLC and HMI programming, encompassing motion and servo control systemsĀ
Ability toĀ modifyĀ existing control logic to improve safety,Ā performanceĀ or throughputĀ
Participate in commissioning of new automated equipment and ensure all devices function as designedĀ
Installation,Ā commissioningĀ and support of vision systems for tracking and quality inspectionsĀ
Conducts engineering tasks in mechanical, electrical, and structural systems for testing, material handling, welding, and machining equipmentĀ
Oversee equipment installation as well as start-up and implementation projectsĀ
Partner with Advanced ManufacturingĀ Engineers toĀ lead FAT, equipment validation, and production handoverĀ
Develop equipment specifications and documents for the manufacturing assembly,Ā testingĀ and material handling processesĀ
Oversee project timelines, financial planning, and prepare comprehensive status reports for leadershipĀ
Work with vendors, facility engineers, manufacturing engineers, and production teams to manage project implementationĀ
Find ways to boost safety, cut costs, enhance efficiency, and raise qualityĀ
Prepare or approve system as-built drawingsĀ
Willingness to work flexible hours, including off shifts and weekends, as required by business needsĀ
Skills and Experience:āÆĀ Ā
Bachelorās degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or related engineering field.Ā
Manufacturing or Equipment Engineer withĀ 7+Ā years experienceĀ working in a manufacturing environment.Ā
Experience with robotics, motion control, pneumatics, and machine vision systems.Ā
Equipment requirement development and specification writingĀ
Knowledge of ergonomic and machine safety standardsĀ
Knowledge ofĀ Autocad,Ā SolidworksĀ and MS Office suiteĀ
Strong communicationĀ and collaboration skillsĀ
Ā
Desired Qualifications:Ā
Experience in high-volume thin ceramics, solar,Ā orĀ battery manufacturing is a plusĀ
Experience in thermal equipment/process development and high-volume manufacturing integration.Ā
Ā
Physical Requirements:Ā
Ability to stand/walk for up toĀ 8-10Ā hours per shiftĀ
Occasionally lift/carry up to 25Ā lbsĀ
Use hands and fingers toĀ operateĀ machinery controls and computers throughout the shiftĀ
Visual acuity sufficient for product inspection and reading digital/printed materialsĀ
Hearing ability to detect alarms and communicate effectively with staffĀ
Ability to perform essential tasks with or without reasonable accommodationĀ
Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in required areas (safety glasses, safety-toed boots)Ā
