Responsibilities:
- Design electrical systems for commercial, educational, healthcare, industrial, and public-sector building projects
- Develop construction documents (including plans, specifications, calculations, and reports)
- Perform power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage system design
- Coordinate designs with architects, contractors, owners, and other engineering disciplines
- Conduct site visits, field investigations, and construction observations
- Deliver projects on schedule and within budget
- Apply applicable codes and standards to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant designs
- Assist with project proposals, client meetings, and technical presentations
- Mentor/train junior staff
- Manage multiple projects/priorities in a collaborative environment
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
- PE License in Minnesota and ability to obtain licensure in North Dakota within six months
- 5+ years of experience designing electrical building systems (adjust years as appropriate)
- Experience with commercial, institutional, industrial, or municipal building projects
- Proficient with design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SKM, ETAP, or similar tools
- Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA, IBC, IEEE, and other applicable codes and standards
Salary is commensurate with experience.
