This position is responsible for performing non-invasive cardiac and vascular exams (including Echocardiography, vascular ultrasound), and ensuring proper documentation and clerical duties associated with the exams. This position is accountable for recognizing abnormal results and consulting with physicians to ensure correct disposition of patients and appropriate outcomes. In addition, the position has oversight of the EKG Department as well as the echo vascular department, assuring workflow for both departments, recognizing abnormal results and reporting them to physicians. The incumbent will also be responsible for orientation and training new staff.
Requirements
1. High school diploma or equivalent is required.
2. Certification for two (2) years as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) is required.
3. Certification for two (2) years as a Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) is required.
4. Proficiency in Cardiac Ultrasound with the ability to work independently is required, as evidenced by a minimum of three (3) years of cardiac sonography experience.
5. Cardiac ultrasound experience with pulsed, continuous wave and color flow doppler abilities as well as demonstrated knowledge of Cardiac Anatomy and Physiology is required.
6. Successful completion of a Basic Arrhythmia course is required. Successful completion of an Advanced Arrhythmia class is preferred.
7. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR card is required.
8. Medical terminology, computer and technical skills are required.
9. The ability to relate in a professional manner to patients, physicians, the public and other health care providers, functioning proactively to exceed their expectations is required.
10. Previous lead experience is preferred.
11. Previous preceptor experience is preferred.
Pay Range
$53.00 - $74.21
