We’re seeking Project Controls Specialists with strong expertise in cost and scheduling management to join our expanding team. This is a highly critical skill set in today’s market, offering the opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-visibility engineering and construction programs with confidence and precision. These opportunities will be supporting PG&E in Central California (Fresno, Bakersfield, Stockton), providing the chance to work alongside a hallmark client on impactful, high-visibility programs. Candidates are required to be located within 60 miles of these locations — any business travel expenses incurred will be reimbursed, including mileage.
What You’ll Do
As a key member of the project controls team, you will help drive project performance by providing strong cost and schedule oversight across multi-phase programs. In this role, you will:
- Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules, primarily using Primavera P6
- Establish and monitor cost control baselines and budgets for complex projects
- Perform earned value analysis, variance analysis, and forecasting for both cost and schedule performance
- Prepare progress reports, dashboards, and performance updates for internal leadership and client stakeholders
- Partner with project managers, discipline leads, and finance teams to align scope, schedule, and budget
- Support risk identification, mitigation planning, and what-if schedule/cost analysis
- Assist with change management, including evaluation of change orders and analysis of schedule and cost impacts
- Contribute to claims support and time-impact analyses as needed
What We’re Looking For
We’re interested in candidates who bring a strong foundation in project controls and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset. Ideal candidates will have:
- Significant hands-on experience in project controls, with a strong emphasis on scheduling and cost management
- Experience supporting large, complex engineering or construction programs
- Strong proficiency in Primavera P6
- Experience integrating schedule and cost data to provide a complete view of project performance
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively
- The ability to work collaboratively across teams, functions, and locations in a fast-paced environment
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Typically 5+ years of related experience in project controls, cost management, and scheduling
