About the Role

Vitro is seeking an experienced Wareroom Shift Supervisor to lead operations in a 24/7 glass manufacturing environment. This role oversees wareroom production activities including examining, cutting, packaging, storage, and shipping of finished glass products while ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and strong employee engagement.

The Fresno plant combines advanced manufacturing processes with a strong safety culture and a union-supported workforce. Leaders at this location play a vital role in driving productivity, quality, and continuous improvement while supporting a collaborative, pro-employee environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise all wareroom operations on assigned shift, including cutting lines and shipping

  • Lead and coordinate hourly and salaried employees in a union environment

  • Balance labor and production capacity to meet quality, packaging, and customer requirements

  • Monitor yields, throughput, quality metrics, and operational performance

  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards

  • Communicate daily with production, quality, maintenance, and other departments

  • Maintain accurate shift logs, production data, and personnel records

  • Address operational issues in real time and escalate unusual conditions as needed

  • Support employee development through coaching, training, and performance reviews

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and 5S programs

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required (college degree preferred)

  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or production

  • Experience working in a union environment preferred

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, overtime, and on-call assignments

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, moving equipment, and glass materials

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 20 lbs occasionally

  • Approximately 20% office-based work
