TPZP, A Tutor Perini joint venture company, is the company selected to execute the California High Speed Rail – construction package one (CP-1).  TPZP is seeking Quality Control Engineers for the project office in Fresno, CA

About California High Speed Rail- CP1

Extraordinary Projects, Exceptional Performance

The California High-Speed Rail Authority’s Construction Package 1 (CP1) is the first significant construction contract executed on the Initial Operating Section of the High-Speed Rail project in California’s Central Valley.

The CP1 construction area is a 32-mile stretch between Avenue 19 in Madera County to East American Avenue in Fresno County, including major work elements in downtown Fresno. It includes 12 roadway / railroad grade separations, two mainline viaducts, one tunnel, realignments of existing railroad tracks, utility relocations, roadway relocations, two trench sections, and a major river crossing over the San Joaquin River.

Extraordinary Projects need Exceptional Talent

Description:

  • Inspect to contract specifications the quality of concrete mix designs, construction submittals, testing procedures, etc.

  • Inspect concrete steel reinforcement and form work on bridge decks, beams, box culverts, columns, footings, utilities and roadways.

  • Develop understanding/working knowledge of company quality control program, company standards, procedures, codes, etc. required to perform assigned work.

  • Perform inspections and witness tests applicable to discipline to determine acceptability of work.

  • Assist in maintaining work performance records, inspection records and other related items; assure correctness of all documents.

  • Assist in preparation/implementation of quality control procedures, i.e., inspection instructions, control measuring and test equipment, etc.

  • Assist in coordinating quality control inspection schedules with other department schedules.

  • Participate in internal/external quality control audits.

  • Assist in reviewing purchase documents to ensure compliance with quality control requirements.

  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED certification

  • 5 or more years of experience in support of heavy civil construction testing, inspection, supervision or management in support of large public works projects.

  • Experienced with U.S. construction standards and codes

  • An understanding and experience with contract specifications as they apply to quality control and/or assurance (preferred)

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (preferred)

  • ACI or other industry related certifications (preferred)
