Job Description:

 

Global Trade Management, Senior Consultant

The Senior Consultant plays a key role in reviewing compliance work, identifying risks, and supporting the delivery of complex customs compliance projects. You will oversee staff outputs, validate audit findings, draft technical language, and help shape compliance recommendations for clients. This role supports managers on risk evaluation, technical interpretations, and ensuring that client compliance programs are defensible, well‑documented, and aligned with regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review compliance work prepared by staff, ensuring accuracy and defensibility.

  • Lead portions of customs compliance audits, including risk identification and issue assessment.

  • Validate data reconciliations, anomalies, and import compliance findings.

  • Ensure accurate statute of limitations tracking and deadline management for audits and corrections.

  • Draft technical language for CF28/CF29 responses, compliance position statements, and audit narratives.

  • Identify gaps in documentation, classification, valuation, or tariff application.

  • Coordinate workflow across multiple audit or compliance review projects.

  • Prepare structured findings summaries and support managers in presenting results to clients.

  • Maintain high documentation standards, version control, and organized audit workpapers.

  • Support the development of client compliance programs, internal controls, and process improvements.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to consultants and analysts.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree

  • 3 years professional experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2–4+ years in customs compliance, trade advisory, brokerage, or importing roles.

  • LCB or CCS preferred

  • Strong working knowledge of customs regulations, tariff frameworks, and compliance requirements.

  • Ability to identify and explain compliance risks clearly and logically.

  • High accuracy in reviewing technical work.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Ability to draft clear, technically sound compliance narratives or responses.

  • Proficiency with Excel and large‑dataset analysis.

  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.

  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Experience with CBP audits, focused assessments, internal audits, or compliance reviews.

  • Familiarity with valuation risks (assists, royalties, transfer pricing interactions, First Sale).

  • Experience responding to CBP inquiries (CF28, CF29) or conducting classification/valuation reviews.

 

The US National pay rate range for this job position is $84,000-$164,300. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to applicant’s skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements and geographic location.
