Gaines Investment Trust is seeking a dependable, motivated Make Ready Technician to join our maintenance team at Silverado Apartments in Frisco, Texas.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in getting apartment homes ready for new residents. Whether you already have apartment maintenance experience or are looking to build your skills and grow into a long-term career in property maintenance, we want to hear from you.
You’ll work alongside our maintenance team to prepare vacant apartments for move-in, complete repairs and improvements, and help maintain the overall appearance and condition of the community.
What You Will Do
  • Prepare vacant apartment homes for new residents
  • Complete make-ready repairs, touch-ups, and final preparations
  • Perform basic plumbing, electrical, appliance, and general maintenance repairs
  • Assist with painting, drywall repairs, caulking, hardware replacement, and other turn-related work
  • Inspect apartment homes and identify items requiring repair or replacement
  • Assist Maintenance Technicians and the Lead Maintenance Supervisor with service requests and property projects
  • Help maintain the community’s grounds, buildings, amenities, and common areas
  • Maintain tools, equipment, supplies, and work areas in a clean and organized manner
  • Follow company safety procedures and property standards
  • Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with residents and team members
  • Participate in the rotational on-call schedule and assist with after-hours maintenance emergencies as needed
What You Will Bring
  • Previous apartment maintenance, make-ready, construction, HVAC, or related hands-on experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of general maintenance and repair work
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet apartment turn deadlines
  • Dependability, initiative, and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
  • Interest in developing additional property maintenance skills
