POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Physician Liaison is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships between the imaging facility and referring physicians, clinics, and healthcare providers.  The goal is to increase patient referrals, improve provider satisfaction, and grow the facility’s market presence through strategic outreach and education about imaging services.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Relationship Management:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact between the imaging center and referring physicians or practices.
    • Conduct regular in-person visits, calls, and follow-ups to maintain rapport and address any concerns.
  • Referral Development:
    • Identify and cultivate new referral sources through strategic marketing and business development initiatives.
    • Analyze referral trends and work with leadership to target underperforming areas.
  • Communication & Education:
    • Educate referring providers and their staff on available imaging services (MRI, CT, Ultrasound, X-Ray, DEXA, etc.), scheduling protocols, and report turnaround times.
    • Facilitate smooth communication between the imaging facility and referring offices, resolving issues promptly.
  • Outreach & Marketing
    • Coordinate and execute outreach campaigns, events, and marketing initiatives to increase visibility of the imaging center.
    • Distribute marketing materials and ensure up-to-date information is available to providers.
  • Data Tracking & Reporting
    • Monitor referral data and generate reports on provider activity, satisfaction trends, and outreach outcomes.
    • Present regular updates to leadership on referral patterns and growth opportunities.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the radiologists, technologists, schedulers, and administrative staff to ensure a seamless patient and provider experience.
    • Participate in weekly or monthly meetings to align outreach with operational goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, marketing, business, or related field (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in physician relations, medical sales, or healthcare business development.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic imaging services and terminology is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience with RIS/PACS is a plus
  • Ability to travel locally to physician offices and clinics

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This is a field-based position with regular travel throughout the service area.
  • Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional early mornings or after-hours for events or meetings.
