Job Overview
This role supports the strategic procurement of circuit and connectivity solutions for T-Mobile's nationwide cell site network. As part of the All Backhaul Technology Procurement team, the Specialist works alongside a Sr. Category Manager, driving sourcing activities across a portfolio of regional and national telecommunications vendors — including CLECs, ILECs, and emerging broadband providers. Success is measured by speed and accuracy of contract execution, contribution to cost savings, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent vendor engagements in a high-volume procurement environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute competitive sourcing processes — RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs — for cell site backhaul circuits including fiber, Ethernet, and satellite broadband across assigned vendor and geographic portfolio
  • Draft, negotiate, and execute contractual documents including Master Service Agreements, service orders, and amendments with telecom vendors ranging from large national carriers to small regional providers
  • Support the National Site Development (NSD) program by sourcing and contracting backhaul connectivity for new cell sites on a continuous weekly cadence
  • Contribute to the cell site contract renewal program — managing vendor bids, comparative analysis, and contract execution to drive cost savings
  • Maintain and update procurement trackers and contract management systems to ensure accurate, real-time visibility across the portfolio
  • Support vendor performance management through business reviews and SLA/billing escalations
  • Collaborate closely with Transport Engineering as the primary internal customer
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by management

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years of related work experience OR combination of education and experience deemed equivalent
  • Acceptable areas of study include Telecommunications, Business, Supply Chain, or Information Systems

Experience:

  • 2+ years experience in a technology sourcing, telecom procurement, or related field
  • Working knowledge of fiber, Ethernet, point-to-point circuits, DIA, and/or satellite broadband access technologies
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume procurement or contracts enviornment

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent procurement activities across a large vendor portfolio
  • Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills — commercial terms, SLAs, pricing structures
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly Excel for bid comparisons and data analysis
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate with engineering teams, legal, and external vendors simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Salesforce or similar procurement and contract management platforms
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools or AI-powered platforms for procurement intelligence
  • Exposure to MPLS, SD-WAN, or other enterprise connectivity solutions
  • Experience supporting vendor performance management, business reviews, or SLA/billing escalations

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
