Sr. Cinematographer & Editor, Creative Video
Role Overview
Leads high-level cinematography and editing efforts across all Creative Video projects, ensuring technical excellence and creative innovation. Serves as a mentor to junior team members while managing multiple projects and verticals within the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Executes high-level cinematography including camera operation, lighting, framing, and audio capture, based on extensive knowledge and experience with all Creative Video equipment.
- Conceptualizes and executes visually compelling and innovative content that aligns with project goals, brand standards, and client expectations.
- Leads multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Manages specific creative verticals or initiatives within the department, serving as a subject matter expert.
- Mentors Cinematographers, Videographers, and Production Interns, providing guidance on technical skills, storytelling, and workflow best practices.
- Proven ability to execute all phases of production at a high level, across an array of productions deliverables.
- Maintains and troubleshoots technical workflows for production and post-production.
- Researches and implements emerging tools, techniques, and technologies to keep the department at the forefront of the industry.
- Demonstrates proactive collaboration across multiple departments.
- Evaluates completed projects and provides insights for continuous improvement.
- Educates internal stakeholders on cinematography and editing processes to ensure alignment and understanding of creative decisions.
- Documents workflows, technical standards, and best practices for future reference and training.
- Participates in location scouting, talent coordination, pre-production planning, and is client facing, as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s of Arts in Radio, Television, or Film or relevant work experience preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in a live production or post-production environment.
- Demonstrated expertise as an experienced cinematographer and editor with a robust portfolio showcasing camera operations, lighting, lens expertise, motion graphics, editing, color grading, and narrative storytelling.
- Solid project management skills with experience leading multiple high-profile projects.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Experience mentoring and developing junior creative team members.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop and Davinci Resolve.
- Strong familiarity with video codecs, compression, transcoding, and delivery workflows.
- Stand on feet for long periods of times – bend, squat, lean, ability to carry equipment.
- Flexible work schedule, willing to work occasional nights, weekends, and holidays.
