SALES ASSOCIATE

The Deli Associate / Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving a variety of food items, including pizza, sandwiches, and other hot and cold deli offerings, within a convenience store environment. This position plays a key role in maintaining food quality, safety standards, cleanliness, and providing efficient, friendly customer service while supporting daily deli operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and assemble food items such as pizza, sandwiches, and other deli products according to company standards
• Operate deli equipment safely, including ovens, and food warmers
• Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and safety practices at all times
• Ensure deli area, workstations, and equipment are kept clean, stocked, and organized
• Monitor food quality, freshness, and presentation
• Assist customers with deli orders in a courteous and professional manner
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and health regulations
• Restock ingredients and supplies as needed
• Communicate with management regarding inventory needs, equipment issues, or customer concerns
• Support overall store operations as needed during busy periods

Qualifications

• Previous food service, deli, or cooking experience preferred, but not required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light to moderate lifting

Work Environment

This position operates primarily in the deli area of a convenience store and may involve exposure to hot surfaces, food equipment, and varying temperatures. Shifts may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
