Food Service Worker

Position Summary:

Performs a wide range of duties involved with preparing and/or serving foods and beverages in a kitchen operation for residential facility for children and adolescents.

Essential Duties:

• Perform general cleaning as scheduled.
• Receive delivery of and put food and supplies away after receipt.
• Ensure safe handling and correct rotation of food items (first in, first out).
• Time is to be used effectively to ensure that duties are completed according to the schedule.
• Department and facility procedures are correctly followed for safety, sanitation, and cleaning schedules.
• Properly wash and store dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
• Assist in food preparation and delivery.
• Assemble and deliver cottage supplies according to the posted standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

If less than high school degree or equivalent, at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience. Prior work in food service environment and prior work with youth, preferred.

Additional Requirements:

• Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted California driver’s license.
• Must be able to successfully complete and maintain required certifications and training.

Salary Range: $16.90 - $20.50 per hour

The posted pay scale for this position serves as a general disclosure. Actual pay offered within the range will be dependent on individual factors such as skills, qualifications, and relevant experience.

Requirements

Clearances and Requirements 

• Must successfully clear DOJ and FBI fingerprint checks.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid California driver’s license and current auto insurance.
• Proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases (e.g., Varicella, MMR, Tdap, TB, Influenza).
• Completion of all required ORR trainings, including Employee Misconduct Acknowledgment, Code of Conduct, and Sexual Abuse and Harassment Prevention.
• Must be able to successfully complete and maintain required certifications and training including, but not limited to, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and First Aid/CPR.
