Job Description:

Purpose:  The Entry Level Mold cleaner works under direct supervision to clean, inspect and perform simple maintenance to molds at the end of each production run.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Maintains molds by disassembling, cleaning and inspecting each mold at the end of each production run or mold changes.
  • Performs basic repairs to molds by machining such as milling, welder, grinder and impact tools. 
  • Records work done on the molds at the end of each cleaning.
  • Maintains work area by cleaning, straightening and sweeping as necessary.
  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures and maintains a safe and clean work area.
  • This list of responsibilities is not exhaustive. Other duties may be required to be undertaken which fall within the scope and general level of responsibility attached to the role.

  • Develops the skills obtained through prior experience and/or formal training to perform key responsibilities.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and apply basic analytical skills to perform activities.
  • Demonstrates safe practice of handheld tools.
  • Quality of team communications

Uses existing procedures to perform straightforward tasks; limited opportunity to deviate without prior supervisor approval or instruction.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to program and run CNC equipment
  • Ability to red blueprints and work with calibration tools and gauges
  • Developed technical and mechanical ability  
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to use hand tools, grinders, welders and similar equipment
  • Organized and able to multi-task

Physical Effort and Work Environment

  • Work performed in a shop environment
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending and reaching
  • Frequent lifting of up to 75 pounds and maneuvering up to 150 pounds with a crane
  • Occasional lifting up to 100 pounds and maneuvering up to 2,000 pounds with a crane
  • Frequently exposed to oil, shavings and noise
