The Oasis at Death Valley is situated in a lush, spring-fed desert oasis, surrounded by the vast and arid desert of Death Valley National Park. The Oasis operates the historic AAA Four Diamond Inn and Ranch, restaurants, gift shops, and the world's lowest elevation golf course. Both hotels are open year-round and feature swimming pools fed by naturally warm local springs.

Job Summary:
Join the Engineering & Maintenance team at The Oasis at Death Valley and bring your craftsmanship to one of the most iconic and unique resort destinations in the country. As a Carpenter, you’ll take on a wide range of hands-on projects—from framing and drywall to roofing, tile work, and custom door and window installations—all while working in the heart of Death Valley National Park. If you’re passionate about skilled trades and want to be part of a team that keeps a historic resort running smoothly, we’d love to hear from you.

 

The Details:
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Start Date: As soon as possible on next available check in date (approximately three weeks)
Pay: $21.65/hr.
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

  • Layout and construct all phases of rough framing.
  • Install and repair drywall.
  • Install and repair wooden and metal window including sliders, single hung, awning and casement styles.
  • Install and repair wooden and metal doors including bi-pass, swinging, bi-fold, arcadia, and pocket styles.
  • Install and repair roofing including shingles, shakes, composition, built up, metal, and tile applications.
  • Install and repair sheet-metal products including stacks, ducts, flashing, gutters and downspouts.
  • Install, repair and grout floor and wall tiles.
  • Reads and works from blueprints.
  • Provides assistance to other trades or departments as requested by the Chief of Engineering (or designate).
  • All other duties assigned.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of (5) years documented experience with complete knowledge and ability to perform the tasks of this craft.
  • Have a neat and clean appearance.
  • Must be available to work all shifts and weekends.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Must have a Drivers’ License.
  • Ability to operate shop equipment.

 

Physical Requirements include:

  • Must be physically able to lift, stand, crawl and bend during normal daily activities.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
