Overview
We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RT), Certified (CRT) or Registered (RRT), internally referred to as a Respiratory Care Provider (RCP) for our Respiratory Care team. As a CRT/RRT you will work under the direction and authorization of the Medical Director and Cardiopulmonary Director/Manager. Someone who carries out respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as directed by the medical and cardiopulmonary directors, based on physician orders. They focus on assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting care while considering the specific needs of patients based on age and population, in the absence of a supervisor.Â

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):Â
- Will provide treatments such as inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications to help patients breathe more easilyÂ
- Conduct tests like pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis to assess lung capacity and gas exchange in patientsÂ
- Set up, monitor, and adjust ventilators and other life-supporting equipment for patients who cannot breathe independentlyÂ
- May be part of a rapid response team in emergencies, which you will provide airway management, perform intubations, and resuscitate patients in critical situationsÂ
- Assess patients' respiratory status, monitor their progress, and make adjustments to treatment plans as neededÂ
- Ensure that all respiratory equipment is properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained to prevent infections and ensure patient safetyÂ
Qualifications
Education and Training

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have: Â
- Alabama state Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and/or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from NBRC
- BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
- ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
- PALS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current
- High School Diploma
Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:Â
- Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science Degree
- NRP certificate
- 2 years experience as an RCP
