Your role at a glance
Under the direction of the Security Supervisor, the Security Officer L1 is responsible for the administrative and operational duties associated with a site security team. This role works closely with the Data Center Operations Team (DCOPS) to ensure that security measures are in place and functioning properly.The Security Officer Level 1 is an experienced client-facing security officer who utilizes clear and concise communication. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the protection of personnel and company property, managing access control, monitoring CCTV systems, responding to incidents, and completing written reports. Team members are expected to collaborate with other departments to assist with matters about the efficient operation of the data center, including Shipping & Receiving. The position enforces and adheres to security procedures based on policies determined by the Security Management team. Your vigilance and attention to detail will contribute to maintaining a secure environment for the NTT Data Center customer and the infrastructure.

Sunday -Tuesday 0700-1900 and Wednesday 0700-1300
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Executes security operations with a higher level of responsibility, including conducting patrols, monitoring security systems, and responding to incidents in accordance with established protocols.
Oversees and manages access control systems, including badge issuance, user permissions, and access levels. Regularly audits access logs, identifies anomalies, and takes appropriate actions to address any unauthorised access attempts.
Leads or assists in the response to security incidents, conducts investigations, gathers evidence, and prepares detailed incident reports to be reviewed by Security Management. Collaborates with law enforcement agencies when necessary.
Monitors and maintains security technologies, including CCTV systems, and access control systems. Troubleshoots and reports technical, maintenance, or safety issues, coordinate with vendors and/or Security Management.
Enforces security policies, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Educates employees on security protocols and provides training to enhance security awareness.
Stays updated with the latest security technologies, emerging threats, and industry trends. Proactively identifies areas for improvement, proposes innovative solutions, and implement effective security measures to strengthen NTT Data Centre's security posture.
Fosters strong working relationships with other departments, stakeholders and external partners. Communicates security-related information, risks, and recommendations to management and assist in decision-making process.
Ensures that the client, its associates, and NTT Data Centre employees are provided with a safe and professional work environment.
Ensures that daily administrative documentation is kept concise and complete at all times.
Maintains all daily assigned equipment in functional and presentable condition.
Responds to all requests for assistance relayed by employees or clients; completes various company or client assignments as required.
Assists in performing and maintaining the Shipping and Receiving tasks.
Investigates and reports fires, evacuations, hazardous situations/other facility related events. Responsibilities include crowd control and assisting Fire Department/EMS or other officials during these processes.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Regular, predictable attendance is essential for satisfactory performance.

Advanced knowledge of the access control and monitoring systems’ standard methods, practices, tools and equipment for the security team, including advanced knowledge of Matrix and its interface with access control
Advanced knowledge of closed circuit television video (CCTV) in order to export and email videos
Advanced knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules
Demonstrated ability to utilise non-standard programmes
Demonstrated ability to utilise security systems for reports and investigations
In-depth knowledge of the Data Centre Security Best Practices
Demonstrated ability to correctly escalate issues up the chain of command.
Ability to interpret policies and procedures in order to make recommendations on updates
Detailed understanding of all NTT GDC environment
Must be comfortable working in a highly critical, highly confidential, fast paced environment with shifting priorities
Must be able to respond to emergency situations at the data centre
Must be willing to work outside normal business hours, including weekends, late nights, holidays and be part of on-call protocol
Strong knowledge of NTT Data Centre security protocols, access control systems, surveillance technologies, and incident response procedures.
Proficient in using NTT Data Centre security technologies and computer systems, including access control systems, CCTV systems with digital recording and photo ID, incident management, and Microsoft Office applications.
Understanding of relevant regulations and standards related to data centre security, such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR.
Academic Qualifications and Certifications:
High School diploma or GED required
Completion of Security Officer Level 1 Training Track (Internal Candidates)
Possession of certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP)
CPR/First Aid Certification
Required Experience:
Some demonstrated experience in a security position within a data centre environment.
Some demonstrated experience in Security Officer Level 1position (Internal Candidates)
Some demonstrated experience with standard methods, practices, tools and equipment for the security team
Compensation Pay Range
This position requires work to be done onsite at a data center facility and may require use of a personal mobile device. A monthly stipend will be provided to cover expenses incurred for using a personal device, if applicable.
NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Hourly base salary for this position is $18.90 - $23.60 and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance to local state and federal ‘Wage and Hour’ requirements.
All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.
