Overview

This role is a strategic facilities leader responsible for leading enterprise-wide building operations initiatives across a complex, multi-site healthcare system, including energy management and facility reliability. This role will be a hands-on visible leader who combines strong technical aptitude with leadership and development skills.  This role partners with senior leadership to align facility strategies with the mission, values, and long-term goals of the healthcare system.


Responsibilities

Enterprise Facilities Operations has the management and oversight responsibility for the following functions at all sites included as part of UF Health:

  • Lead the development and management of annual operating and capital budgets, including forecasting, variance analysis, and executive reporting.
  • Coordinate the system-wide budgeting process across all departments under the VP, standardizing inputs and consolidating submissions.
  • Monitor financial and operational performance, providing insights and recommendations to improve outcomes.
  • Track capital project financials across markets, including budgets, commitments, actuals, and variances.
  • Develop and maintain executive dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools across facilities, construction, real estate, safety, security, and transportation.
  • Maintain centralized trackers for capital projects, leases, and key initiatives, translating data into concise, executive-ready reports.
  • Oversee facilities-related business services such as purchasing, receiving, contracts, and warehouse operations to ensure efficiency and financial control.
  • Partner with Finance and Accounting to monitor purchasing performance, resolve discrepancies, and improve processes.
  • Establish standardized tools and templates for project tracking, reporting, and VP-led initiatives.
  • Prepare executive presentations, board materials, and leadership updates by synthesizing complex operational and financial data.
  • Support policy and procedure management, audit readiness, and compliance documentation across departments.
  • Ensure accurate and accessible records for inspections, certifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with Procurement and Facilities leaders on vendor management, RFP processes, and contract performance tracking.
  • Serve as a liaison across Finance, Supply Chain, HR, IT, and other functions to advance initiatives and resolve issues.
  • Coordinate strategic initiatives on behalf of the VP, tracking milestones, risks, and follow-ups to ensure execution.
  • Manage incoming requests to the VP’s office, triaging and tracking progress through resolution.
  • Leverage tools, including AI-enabled solutions, to improve operational efficiency and reporting.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering required.

 

Experience: Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in healthcare facility management field with experience working in an academic medical center or large hospital systems with 500+ beds, including at least five (5) years in a leadership role.

 

License/Certifications (if applicable): CHFM certification required. PE, SASHE, or FASHE preferred
