Description

Position Summary

The Service Porter / Assistant Service Advisor plays a key role in delivering an exceptional customer experience in the service department. This position supports Service Advisors while ensuring vehicles are moved, prepared, and returned efficiently and professionally. This is an excellent entry-level role for individuals interested in growing into a full Service Advisor position.


Key Responsibilities

Vehicle & Service Drive Support

  • Greet customers promptly and professionally upon arrival
  • Drive, park, and retrieve customer vehicles safely
  • Perform basic vehicle write-up support (mileage, VIN, concerns)
  • Conduct walk-around inspections and note visible issues
  • Install seat covers, floor mats, and steering wheel covers
  • Maintain organization and flow in the service drive and lot

Assistant Service Advisor Duties

  • Assist Service Advisors with repair order preparation
  • Communicate basic service updates to customers as directed
  • Verify customer contact information and service needs
  • Schedule follow-up appointments when needed
  • Support customer check-out and vehicle delivery process

Vehicle & Facility Care

  • Ensure vehicles are clean and presentable for delivery
  • Perform light washing or vacuuming as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness of service drive, advisor desks, and waiting areas
  • Follow all safety and dealership procedures


Requirements

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude
  • Basic automotive knowledge preferred (not required)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to operate motor vehicles safely
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally

Experience

  • Previous automotive, customer service, or valet experience preferred
  • Entry-level candidates encouraged to apply
