The Vice President of Supply Chain Strategic Sourcing provides executive leadership and oversight for purchasing, contracting, and value analysis across UF Health. This role is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive, systemwide strategic sourcing strategy that standardizes historically decentralized processes and drives alignment across all entities.

The VP will partner closely with Finance, Accounts Payable, and operational leaders to optimize the full procure-to-pay lifecycle, enhance operational efficiency, and support financial performance. This leader will play a critical role in advancing value-based purchasing, strengthening supplier partnerships, and ensuring sourcing strategies align with UF Health’s mission and long-term goals.
Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Supply Chain Optimization
- Develop and implement a systemwide strategic sourcing strategy across purchasing, contracting, and value analysis.
- Standardize legacy contracts and procurement processes across multiple hospitals into a unified model.
- Lead initiatives to streamline procurement, reduce waste, and improve supply chain resilience.
- Monitor contract performance and execution at a system level and adjust strategies as needed.
Spend Management & Financial Performance
- Analyze enterprise-wide spend to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve margin performance.
- Implement sourcing strategies that support cost containment, value-based purchasing, and operational efficiency.
- Partner with clinical and physician leaders to align sourcing initiatives with care delivery needs.
Contracting, Purchasing & Value Analysis
- Oversee supplier selection, contract negotiation, and purchasing compliance to ensure optimal terms and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate on RFI, RFQ, and RFP processes, including evaluation of vendor responses.
- Guide stakeholders in evaluating products and services for cost, quality, and outcomes.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with Finance, Legal, Compliance, IT, and Operations to align sourcing strategies with organizational priorities.
- Work closely with Support Services leadership and vendor management teams on system agreements.
Performance & Analytics
- Establish and monitor KPIs to measure sourcing effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
- Leverage analytics and benchmarking to inform strategy and identify opportunities.
- Track and report savings achieved through sourcing and contract optimization efforts.
Vendor & Relationship Management
- Develop strategic supplier partnerships that drive innovation and performance.
- Lead regular business reviews with key vendors to ensure alignment and accountability.
Leadership & Culture
- Build and lead a high-performing, collaborative team across the system.
- Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Communicate clearly to ensure alignment on priorities and expectations.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and UF Health policies.
- Promote ethical sourcing and contracting practices.
- Oversee contract compliance and provide training on policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in strategic sourcing, contracting, or supply chain management within healthcare.
- Demonstrated experience leading system-level transformation and standardization initiatives.
- Strong financial acumen with experience driving cost savings and margin improvement.
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders, physicians, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Deep expertise in sourcing strategy, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to drive change in complex environments.
