We are seeking aĀ Medical Lead, Prostate CancerĀ to joinĀ US Medical AffairsĀ inĀ Gaithersburg, Maryland. This is a high-impact leadership role for a medical affairs professional with deepĀ oncology expertise, strongĀ headquarters experience, and a proven ability to shape and execute strategy in a fast-paced environment.
The Medical Lead will serve as theĀ medical leader for a prostate cancer brand and/or indication, with accountability forĀ medical strategy, integrated planning, execution, cross-functional leadership, and budget oversight. This individual will lead theĀ Core Medical Team (CMT), partner closely withĀ Global Medical Affairs, and help ensure that US medical activities are aligned to scientific priorities, evidence needs, and business objectives.
This role is ideal for someone who combinesĀ strategic thinkingĀ withĀ execution excellence, and who can influence across a complex matrix while maintaining a strong focus onĀ patients, science, and compliant collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead US Medical Affairs activitiesĀ for a prostate cancer product or indication, providing medical leadership across strategy and execution.
- Develop and lead integrated medical plansĀ that support key strategic priorities, launch readiness, evidence generation, and scientific engagement.
- Chair and lead the Core Medical Team (CMT), aligning cross-functional stakeholders on strategy, tactics, milestones, and resource needs.
- Drive execution of the medical plan, ensuring activities are timely, compliant, and aligned with medical and business objectives.
- Manage and oversee the medical budgetĀ associated with the brand or indication.
- Partner with Global Medical AffairsĀ to align US execution with global strategy, data generation plans, and scientific priorities.
- Collaborate with commercial and cross-functional teamsĀ to ensure medically appropriate brand planning and execution.
- Provide medical review and inputĀ to ensure scientific accuracy, balance, and integrity of medical and promotional materials, consistent with applicable standards.
- Build and maintain relationships with external experts, academic institutions, professional societies, advocacy organizations, payer and provider stakeholders, and other strategic partners.
- Support medical education and scientific exchange, including advisory boards, speaker training, and other external engagement activities.
- Collaborate on evidence generation plans, including investigator-sponsored research, HEOR initiatives, outcomes studies, and other medical affairs research activities.
- Work closely with field medical teams and key account stakeholdersĀ to support a coordinated medical strategy for key external accounts.
- Contribute medical insight into product safety discussionsĀ in partnership with Patient Safety colleagues.
Essential Qualifications
- MD, DO, PhD, or PharmDĀ with relevant medical, scientific, or pharmaceutical industry experience.
- 5+ years of relevant experienceĀ in the pharmaceutical industry, clinical practice, and/or research, preferably inĀ oncologyĀ or another closely related therapeutic area.
- Significant oncology experience, including a strong understanding of disease area strategy and scientific engagement.
- Headquarters-based medical affairs experience, with demonstrated involvement in strategic planning and cross-functional execution.
- Experience supporting aĀ brand, disease area, or indication strategyĀ in aĀ US, regional, or globalĀ organization.
- Strong ability to work effectively acrossĀ cross-functional teamsĀ and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
- ExcellentĀ written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizationalĀ skills.
- StrongĀ business acumen, including awareness of the evolvingĀ US payer and provider landscape.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to approximatelyĀ 30%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience inĀ oncology product launchesĀ or pre-launch planning.
- Experience leadingĀ integrated medical planningĀ and coordinating execution across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Familiarity withĀ prostate cancerĀ and/or other complex oncology disease areas.
- Experience working withĀ medical evidence generation,Ā HEOR,Ā external sponsored research, or scientific publication planning.
- Knowledge of relevantĀ professional societies,Ā scientific experts, and the broader oncology external landscape.

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $193,821 - $289,922. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
