This role is supporting chemistry efforts which will be i) reaction optimization and ii) analogue synthesis to effectively standardize and optimize these workflows.   Duties and Responsibilities: Synthesize and optimize chemical probes for potency and solubility. Validate analysis methods for the quantification of cell kinetics. Provide assay support and assay development for product release and characterization. Perform both routine and specialized laboratory procedures. Perform chemical and biochemical reactions and appropriate analytical analyses. 1 Troubleshoot and provide routine maintenance of the instruments and equipment. Write papers and abstracts detailing research efforts and results for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Collect and review data; analyze and interpret data and results. 2 Prepare reports to include a summary of the samples (experimental or clinical), the modifications measured, and the results validated. Formulate chemistry plans for the development of soluble, potent, selective small molecule probes of biological function. Analyze samples using validated analytical methods for ongoing studies. Perform chemical synthesis and optimization of small molecule probes for use in biological research. 3 Perform organic synthesis in support of the medicinal chemistry program. Work with staff in identity, purity and stability analysis. Perform synthetic, optical, radionucleotide and biochemical studies. Perform bulk-synthesis, purification and formulation efforts for advanced testing in animal models. Purify compounds submitted by chemists. 4 Devise synthetic routes to target molecules; produce 10-100 member libraries with acceptable purity and deliver quantities to support biological assays. 5 Perform bulk-synthesis, purification and formulation efforts for advanced testing in animal models.
