Residential Service Technician

Skillforce is seeking a skilled Residential Electrician for a Service Technician role with a small electrical business. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity for someone with strong experience in residential electrical service and renovation.

Pay

• $32–$34 per hour, depending on experience

Schedule & Location

• 8-hour shifts

• Monday–Friday

• Work locations include Maryland, Washington DC, and Northern Virginia

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot residential electrical service issues

• Install and service:

  • Electrical wiring, outlets, and switches

  • Data wiring

  • Light fixtures, ceiling fans, recessed lighting, and LED lighting

  • Security and landscape lighting

  • Smoke detectors and CO₂ detectors

  • Electrical panels (heavy-ups), breaker replacements

  • Appliance outlets and GFCIs

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of residential electrical experience

• Electrical license preferred

• Ability to perform service calls in a professional manner

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)

• Own hand tools

• Ability to read and speak English
