The Athletic Trainer Job Description: 

  • Full-time, direct hire position 
  • Shift/schedule varies including evenings and Saturdays for game coverage 
  • Great therapy leadership and administration team! 
  • The Athletic Trainer provides athletic screenings in the schools, hospital, and outpatient facility according to the principles and practices of the National Athletic Trainers Association. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary Rehabilitation Team including physicians, physical therapists, and occupational therapists. Provides training guidelines and modification for athletes and coaches. Makes recommendations to athletes, coaches, parents, and physicians regarding an athlete's injury. Provides game coverage. Provides rehabilitation under guidance of licensed therapist. Plans, organizes, and implements specific medically prescribed cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitation programs.  

 

The Athletic Trainer Qualifications: 

  • Graduate of an accredited program for athletic trainers 
  • Licensure in Illinois or eligibility for licensure is required 
  • Certification by the National Athletic Trainers Association is required 
  • Clinic and field experience is preferred 
  • Current CPR certification is required
