N Line Electric, established in 2003, is looking for an experienced Estimator / Project Manager to join our team. Required Qualifications

- Minimum 2 years of estimating medium voltage and secondary electrical projects

- Experience with McCormick estimating software

- Proficiency with on-screen takeoff tools, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office and Field Wire

- Strong communication, analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written skills

- Team-oriented mindset

 

Preferred Qualifications

- Licensed Journeyman Lineman and or

- Licensed Journeyman Electrician

- Bachelors Degree in Construction Management a plus

 

Role Overview

This role combines estimating and project management responsibilities. The right candidate will help prepare competitive bids, support project planning and execution, and manage project financial and documentation processes to improve company effectiveness and efficiency.

 

The projects you will be responsible for estimating and managing range from underground and overhead distribution to secondary electrical work.

 

Estimator Responsibilities

- Interpret bid documents, including drawings, technical specifications, front-end documents, and other project materials, to determine scope of work and estimate requirements

- Prepare project proposals and submit them to customers

- Maintain working files and backup documentation for estimate figures, including current pricing from suppliers through direct contact and online sources

- Review design options and recommend the best solution based on cost, engineering quality, and material availability

- Write Requests for Information (RFIs)

- Prepare budgets

- Negotiate extra work quotations with customers

 

Project Manager Responsibilities

- Manage the financial organization and tracking of assigned projects

- Help implement measures that improve company effectiveness and efficiency

- Prepare and manage purchase order buyout

- Prepare and enforce project strategy documents

- Prepare and review submittals and shop drawings

- Prepare project budgets and schedules of values

- Review files for compliance with company policies and procedures

- Review contract drawings and address RFIs

- Assist with prevailing wage requirements

 

Financial Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day project activities to stay on budget and on schedule

- Complete project buyout and obtain quotes in a timely manner, including control takeoff of quotable items

- Price and settle change orders accurately

- Prepare billing with the project team

 

Project Organization and Tracking

- Distribute and maintain current drawings, specifications, and product data, including changes and clarifications and QA/QC documents

- Work closely with the Project Coordinator to maintain master lists for materials, submittals, RFIs, and to-do items

- Ensure materials are released to the jobsite on time

- Ensure weekly updates for material tracking

- Adhere to contract documents

- Maintain project documentation, including delays, back charges, and claims
