EHS Coordinator

The EHS Coordinator will be responsible for improving the environmental, health, and safety for mission critical, hyperscale data centers in a campus setting. The EHS Coordinator will implement sustainability initiatives, advance safety culture, ensure sustainability initiatives are followed and reported, and will protect the health and wellbeing of employees, customers, suppliers and visitors at the campus.

Primary Duties within varied scope of work and expectations will range from:

 Regular interior/exterior facility inspections (equipment, tools, PPE, maintenance, fire systems, safety devices etc.).

 Conduct site safety audits and inspections and examine work sites to identify hazards in the workplace.

 Complete comprehensive reports of findings including correction plans to ensure compliance.

 Analyze risk scenarios to determine their potential impact.

 Design and implement safety-related programs to mitigate risk scenarios.

 Work with site leaders to develop training initiatives for engineering, data center, and property level professionals.

 Advocate safe changes in the face of new infrastructure, new tools, and new processes.

 Investigate and analyze incident reports involving workrelated injuries, illnesses, and recommend measures to prevent recurrence.

 Maintain extensive and frequent interaction with company management, representatives of federal and state agencies and other safety professionals.

 Supports EHS technical submissions for customer SOQs and RFQs.

 Reviews Contractor Method of Procedures and Safety Plans for compliance with customer requirements, and OSHA or international equivalent standards.

 Provides EH&S training to staff and construction managers.

 Support the delivery team with selections of 3rd party EHS representatives for projects as required.

 First point of offsite escalation in the event of a safety incident on a project site; supports and advises the 3rd party EHS representative and the delivery team during incident investigations and root cause analyses

 Performs periodic project site walks and inspections with construction managers and 3rd Maintain environmental permits/programs to ensure compliance with all applicable agencies.

 Identify and evaluate operational EHS risks and assess the impact to the business.  Conduct assessments of existing EHS protocols and determine efficiencies to be

gained through previously established programs.

 Tracking waste recycling, energy, water usage, and greenhouse gas emissions.  Evaluate green energy alternatives and partner with outside resources where

applicable to implement meaningful change to energy use.

 Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual sustainability reporting to the site manager and customer as needed.

 Assess EHS training needs based on identified operational risks and ensure that workforce training activities are provided to meet business and legislative requirements.

 All other duties and initiatives as assigned.

Additional Accountabilities:

 100% completion of required Talent LMS based training courses as assigned

 100% adherence to Salute culture and best practices

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience for Success for varied Client SOW:

 Associates degree required

 Experience collaborating and partnering with teams

Must have familiarity with Net Zero Waste concepts and program initiatives. Experience with commercial building operation and maintenance.

Strong regulatory knowledge in federal, state, and local EPA, OSHA, DOT etc. regulations.

 Accident investigation experience required

 Possesses working knowledge of energy conservation

 Proof of OSHA 30 Hour General or Construction Industry Training  Proficient with Microsoft Applications

 Effective verbal and written communication skills

 Experience working in a team environment but comfortable working alone with little direction

 Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, time management, and planning ahead  Demonstrated agility to pivot between competing priorities and situations

Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

 Degree in Occupational Safety, Health and Safety, Engineering or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) / Safety Management Specialist (SMS) certification in the related area

 Bachelor’s Degree

 Formal training in energy conservation

 Experience in project leadership and project management  Knowledge of datacenter functionality

 Demonstrated ability to take initiative where necessary
