Summary: Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in lifting, distributing, shipping, transporting, storing, and loading materials and products by use of industrial and commercial trucks by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the activities of shipping material handlers and reports any problems with trailers or equipment to appropriate maintenance personnel or outside contractors.
  • Schedules and assigns selection of orders to appropriate shifts based on return times provided by transportation. Schedule times for outside carriers and customer pick-ups.
  • Manages schedules for individuals supervises
  • Enforces all safety and D. O. T. (Department Of Transportation) regulations pertaining to drivers or equipment according to applicable laws
  • Coordinates loading activities to ensure that all deliveries make appointment times.
  • Oversees the flow of materials or products.
  • Verifies or prepares records such as routing slips, material requisitions, job orders.
  • Identify issues relating to Safety, Maintenance, Sanitation and Customer Services as they arise.
  • Ensures that all Shipping pre-use paperwork is completed by the responsible parties.
  • Oversees cycle counts/manage inventory and accurate bin locations.
  • Job closures/material issues.
  • Suggests and implements changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of warehouse, department, or work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Performs Activities of workers supervised when necessary.
  • Assist in the training and recertification of Forklift.
  • Advanced knowledge of scan guns/barcoding
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Receiving PO’s and labeling
  • Approve freight bills
  • Inventory control/Monthly cycle counts
  • Can navigate customer portals (multiple portals: ASN, creation, and labeling)
  • Any other duties as warranted by the company in order to provide efficient delivery to the customer.

Qualification Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, and demonstrate the ability to speak and read English. Employees must supply their own hand tools. Knowledge of and experience working with PM software is preferred. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience:

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and minimum two to four years related experience and/or training; or experience in a manufacturing environment.

Mathematical Skills:

Practical application that are necessary for this position.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts, is exposed to the risk of electrical shock and is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. Some dust, noise, oils, greases, grinding debris, compressed air, metal shavings, propane and solvents. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
