This role ensures that the facility remains safe, functional, and well-maintained by addressing issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and general repairs. The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in maintaining the comfort and safety of residents, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities: Routine Maintenance: Perform general maintenance tasks such as repairing or replacing light fixtures, plumbing systems, HVAC equipment, and other mechanical systems. Conduct regular inspections of the facility and equipment to identify and address any issues before they become major problems. Complete work orders in a timely manner and ensure that repairs meet quality standards. Electrical and Plumbing Repairs: Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including wiring, outlets, light fixtures, and circuit breakers. Address plumbing issues such as clogged drains, leaks, and malfunctioning fixtures. Replace or repair faucets, toilets, water heaters, and other plumbing equipment as needed. HVAC Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to ensure they are functioning efficiently. Inspect and change filters, clean air ducts, and address issues such as poor airflow or temperature imbalances. Troubleshoot and repair minor HVAC problems or coordinate with external contractors for more complex repairs. Preventive Maintenance: Implement and follow preventive maintenance schedules for equipment and systems to minimize downtime and reduce the likelihood of breakdowns. Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections to ensure compliance with facility standards and regulations. Ensure that all tools, supplies, and equipment are stored and maintained properly. Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety procedures, including the proper handling of tools, chemicals, and hazardous materials. Ensure that the facility complies with all local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA guidelines. Address any safety concerns, such as malfunctioning equipment or hazards, and report them to management promptly. Emergency Repairs: Respond to urgent repair requests or facility emergencies, such as power outages, plumbing leaks, or equipment failures. Be available for on-call duties outside of regular working hours to handle emergency maintenance issues. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the maintenance team and other facility departments to coordinate repairs and minimize disruption to residents and staff. Communicate clearly with management and other staff about ongoing repairs, issues, and any potential delays. Assist in special projects, such as facility renovations or upgrades, as needed. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational training or certification in building maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, or a related field is preferred. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a healthcare or similar environment. Experience with electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems is highly preferred. Skills: Strong troubleshooting and repair skills in multiple areas, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building maintenance. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Good communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with residents, staff, and visitors.
