Role Overview:Â
The Yard/PM Technician supports the daily operations by preventing downtime at our equipment rental yard. This role focuses on inspections and preventative maintenance and yard organization. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Education & Experience Requirements:
- Required: Class C Driver’s License
- Required: High School or equivalent
- Required: 1–2-year experience
- Required: Basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with hand tools
- Preferred: Forklift operation experience
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform basic repairs, including oil changes, lubrications, filter changes, and minor adjustments.
- Routine service and maintaining equipment by replacing worn parts before failure. (belts, hoses, seals, filters).
- Performing adjustments with tightening belts and chains, aligning motors or pulleys, calibrating sensors, adjusting clearances or tolerances.
- Identify and report visible issues such as leaks, damage and worn parts to management.
- Loads and unloads cargo, ensuring it is properly secured for transport.Â
- Secure loads properly and follow all transportation safety guidelines.
- Move equipment safely around the yard.
- Stage equipment for upcoming rentals and ensure machines are clean and operational.
- Inspect yard for hazards such as trash, debris, litter, objects. Report potholes, ensure gates, fences, and access points are secure, inspect for damage or gaps.
- Trim weeds along fences, building, and equipment area, and remove overgrown brush.
- Empty trash bins, check yard lighting, replace non-working lights, and snow or ice removal.
- Occasional deliveries and pick up rental equipment at local job sites or customer locations in the absence of the local delivery driver.
- Safe work practices and use of personal protective equipment.Â
- Clear communication and foster a cohesive and collaborative work culture.
- Exceptional customer service by maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, acknowledging all customers promptly.
- Protects the company’s value by keeping proprietary information confidential.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by management.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
This role is physically active requiring lifting, bending, and frequent standing. Sitting, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching (including above shoulder level), gripping, and carrying. Employees must be able to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, and manipulate objects. Climbing stairs is required. The position requires the ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
Work conditions include exposure to dust and extreme weather conditions. The employee must have adequate visual acuity, including near and far vision and depth perception, to safely perform job duties.

Work Hours and Environment:
Consistent schedule; this is a full-time position requiring availability Monday through Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM and rotational Saturdays, 8:00AM – 2:00PM. The work environment is a combination of shop, yard, and off-site delivery work. Occasional overtime availability.
Pay Rate: $15-$16/hr
